OUR BELIEFS
WE BELIEVE Jesus is the Son of God and is equal with God, as is the Holy Spirit (John 1:1, 49; Philippians 2:5–11)
WE BELIEVE Jesus lived a perfect, sinless life (Hebrews 4:15; John 8:29)
WE BELIEVE Jesus was crucified to pay the penalty for our sins (Matthew 26:28; 1 Corinthians 15:2–4)
WE BELIEVE Jesus rose from the dead (Luke 24:46; Mark 16:6)
WE BELIEVE We are saved by the grace of God; that is, we cannot add to or take away from Christ’s finished work on the cross as full payment for our sin (Ephesians 2:8–9)
WE BELIEVE God created human beings distinctly as male and female (Gen 1:27). The distinctness, complementarity, and relational nature of the human race as “male and female” is based on the created order given by God when He created humanity “in His image” (Gen 1:26-27; 5:1-3; 9:6; 1 Cor 11:7; Jam 3:9; 2 Cor 3:18; Eph 4:23-24; Col 3:10), and these establish a normative connection between biological sex and gender.
WE BELIEVE The Old Testament, as well as the New Testament, communicates the equally high value and dignity which God attached to the roles of both men and women (Gen 1:26-27, 2:18; Gal 3:28). Both Old and New Testaments also affirm the principle of male headship in the family and in the covenant community, specifically relating to the role of pastor (one who exercises authority over a congregation) being for men only. (Gen 2:18; Eph 5:21-33; Col 3:18-19; 1 Tim 2:11-15).
WE BELIEVE Wellness is a means to glorify God, but not the primary responsibility as a Christ follower. In other words, a relationship with God, and spiritual transformation is more important than physical transformation.
WE BELIEVE In worshipping the Creator (God) over creation.
